Dragons’ Den blog returns for Series 15

Posted by: , Posted on: - Categories: Business, Copyright, Designs, IP, Patents, Trade marks

Series 15 of BBC Two’s Dragons' Den is almost here. The show takes everyday inventors, designers, creators or entrepreneurs and sees them pitching their innovative business ideas to a panel of successful investors. These investors are more commonly known as the Dragons.

If they manage to deliver a great pitch, handle the tough interrogation from the Dragons and keep their cool under the enormous pressure, they may just get an investment for a percentage stake in their business.

Meet the new Dragons

The new series introduces two brand new Dragons; Jenny Campbell and Tej Lalvani.

Jenny Campbell

Jenny describes herself as an ex-career banker turned business entrepreneur – as well has having ‘feisty northern grit’. Her European-wide business provides cash machines to the retail industry.

Tej Lalvani

Tej is the CEO of Vitabiotics, the largest vitamin company in the UK. This award winning family business has an annual turnover of £300 million. Tej also runs a property investment business in London.

Some things never change

Even with the fresh input of Jenny and Tej, there’s one thing we can be certain of: if there’s any doubt over the ownership of your intellectual property, expect a fiery grilling from all of the Dragons.

The IPO Dragons’ Den blog will be updated following every episode of Series 15. If you’re interested patents, trade marks, copyright and design, you can also follow our popular Intellectual Property Office blog.
